Sharon Packer

Sharon expresses her love of travel and living in the mountains through her art and photography. Primarily a self-taught photographer since the early 1980s, she has studied with professionals whose work she most admires. With six years of formal training in composition, drawing and oil painting, she brings a painterly eye to her photography. The photographic digital negative and development process serves as the canvas for the inspiring images she creates. Her education includes a B.A. from UNC-Asheville and an M.A. from Furman University.  Sharon's other passions include psychology, horseback riding and all things outdoors.  She is retired from her career as a licensed professional counselor and school psychologist in upstate South Carolina because of a battle with fibromyalgia, but finds her equine photography and fine art work quite rewarding.
